Our Story
The heart and soul behind Rico. At the age of 24, Jorge quit law school and embarked on an adventure to the States in pursuit of the American Dream. Upon arriving, Jorge faced numerous challenges from sleeping in parks to working grueling jobs to make ends meet.
Well a dream kept him going and he found himself in Utah where he started to carve out life for himself.
During this time, Jorge yearned for a true taste home and often felt disappointed by the lack
of quality Mexican food sold in local grocery stores.
So, in 1997, Jorge slingin tart quit his day job to start singin’ beans at the Salt Lake City Farmers Market.
The crowels couldn’t get enough and he quickly expanded his offering to
tamales, burritos, enchiladas, etc.
Well the rest is history.
Today, we are Rico!
A most beloved Utah food brand bringing our community a true taste of our culture through our handmade Mexican food products. True Mexican food like a warm hu huh? We sure do love feeding you!
